411 Gallery Docent:

 

Now in its 5th year, 411 Gallery is growing in popularity and engaging a broad audience. To continue this growth, we are expanding the gallery hours to include early evenings and weekends.

411 Gallery Docent activities and tasks will include:

• Welcome guests into the gallery and provide a brief overview of the exhibition

• Answer questions about the exhibition, 411 Gallery, Columbus Area Arts Council programming, 6th Street Arts Alley, and Downtown Columbus

• Take payments for art and document the sale

• Offer and serve refreshments

• Complete basic opening and closing procedures

• Independent study of exhibiting artists and types of art

• Bonus points for inviting friends to see the exhibition while you are volunteering

The majority of volunteer hours will align with gallery hours. 

• Thursdays 12:00–6:00 pm

• Fridays 12:00–6:00 pm

• Saturdays 10:00–2:00 pm

• Ready to learn

• Detail-oriented and accurate

• Able to read your audience 

• Courteous and respectful

• 18 or older

• Note: extensive knowledge of art is not required
