About 50/50
Since 2017, 50/50, A Community Art Project has invited local artists, designers, hobbyists, and crafters to join this group exhibition. The first 50 registrants receive a complimentary 4" x 4" wood block, which they take home and transform into an original work of art.
Works are sold for $50, with proceeds benefiting future exhibitions at 411 Gallery.
Through 50/50, CAAC seeks to lower barriers to accessing art. This equitable opportunity allows all local artists, crafters, and creators to show their work in a gallery exhibition. In addition, by keeping the price point low, a broad audience can purchase these original artworks. With a diverse group of local talent, 50/50 continues to generate excitement around local arts each year.
Tiny Talk/s: the story behind every 50/50
January 17 / 5:30–7:00 pm
411 Gallery, 411 6th Street
Personal, political, or punny: every 50/50 artwork has a story that deserves to be heard. Join us for Tiny Talk/s featuring the artists, crafters, and creators participating in 50/50.
Each artist will have an allotted time to discuss their piece, inspiration, challenges, or what the work means to them. Tiny Talk/s are informal — this is a chance to express yourself freely.
Participating artists can sign up to give a Tiny Talk at the link below. The event is free and open to the public.
411 is a community arts gallery and cultural space for exhibitions, events, and collaborations. Managed by the Columbus Area Arts Council, 411 Gallery is located in downtown Columbus on the 6th Street Arts Alley, a creative hub at the heart of the city.
