The Columbus Area Arts Council brings art opportunities and community enrichment to Eastern Southern Indiana.

Eastern-Southern Indiana Arts

Through a dynamic partnership with the Indiana Arts Commission, we provide funding opportunities for arts organizations and creative projects across nine counties: Bartholomew, Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Jackson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland.

Types of Grants

Arts Project Support (APS) grants provide funding to Indiana arts and non-arts organizations to support a distinct aspect of the organization’s arts activities, such as a one-time event; a single production; an exhibition; an educational seminar; or series of related arts activities, such as art classes or training sessions.

Arts Organization Support (AOS) provides annual operating support for the ongoing artistic and administrative functions of eligible arts organizations that align with the program priorities.

The Arts Project Support (APS) program is an annual funding opportunity. Applications typically open in January. The grant cycle is July 1–June 30.​

  • June 12, 2023 - Award Notifications 

  • July 20, 2023 - Next Steps Form Due

  • October 2023 - First payment (75%)

  • July 13, 2024 - Final Grant Report Due

  • Summer-Fall 2024 - The final payment (25%) is made after the final grant report (due July 13, 2024) is submitted​

The Arts Organization Support (AOS) program is a bi-annual funding opportunity. Applications open January 2025 for the next grant cycle beginning July 1, 2025–June 30, 2027.​
