In conjunction with Buddy Wakefield's Pop-up Performance on November 14, CAAC is organizing a Youth Poetry Contest for students in Bartholomew County, judged by local writers and educators. 

 

Contest rules: 

  • Open to Bartholomew County students ages 14–19 and/or attending high school (public, private and home school students all eligible).

  • Written poems and videos of students performing their poems will be considered (please submit written version with video entries).

  • Students may enter on their own or have a teacher or guardian submit their entry.

  • All entries must be the original work of the student.

  • School- and age-appropriate subject matter is eligible (no pro-violence, pro-drugs, etc.). Anything deemed inappropriate will be disqualified.

  • Written poems may not exceed 32 lines of text (blank lines between stanzas are not counted). Do not double-space.

  • Video submissions may not exceed 4 minutes in length.

Poems may be submitted to csmith@artsincolumbus.org by 11:59 pm on November 1, 2019. 

Prizes: 

  • 1st Place will open for Buddy Wakefield on November 14 and receive a CAAC swag bag and two tickets to the performance*.

  • 2nd Place will receive a signed book, a CAAC swag bag and admission to the performance*.

  • 3rd Place will receive a CAAC swag bag and admission to the performance*.

*NOTE: Buddy's performance contains mature content. Attendee discretion is advised.
