Region Nine

Regional Initiative

The Columbus Area Arts Council (CAAC) is one of 12 Regional Partners charged with implementing a statewide initiative developed by the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC).

CAAC is the Region 9 Partner and represents Bartholomew, Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Jackson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland counties. As a Regional Partner, the Arts Council works closely with the IAC to provide the following services: grantsmaking and management of IAC funds; information and referral; and, technical assistance. The Region 9 Advisory Council, comprised of representatives from each of the nine counties, meets on a regular basis to provide input into the regionalization process.


UPDATE:

Region 9 Grants for FY13

The following information pertains to the Region 9 FY13 grant categories of Arts Project Support (APS) and Arts Organizational Support (AOS).

Deadline For All Applications: March 1, 2012.  CAAC staff will be available to review drafts of the applications and offer advice or other support.  Please contact Jeff Kuehl at  jkuehl@artsIN columbus.org .

Artistic Documentation:  CAAC does not require any artistic documentation.    
Region Specific Uploads: CAAC has no additional required documents.

Panel Meeting:April 24, 2012.  The meeting will be in Columbus. Six panelists, all with computers, will enter their notes and scores electronically. All panelists will receive training from IAC staff along with support from CAAC. The panelists will come from within and outside Region 9, and their scores will only count if they are present at the meeting. The panelists will give oral review at the meeting and enter their final score. Final scores and grant awards will be announced through formal communication from CAAC.  The cut off score for funding is 75.

Four letters to legislators: Each grantee will be required to submit letters written to elected state officials thanking them for the funds provided by the IAC. Please read over the application guidelines for more specifics.
