The Columbus Area Arts Council presents Indiana Bank & Trust Company’s First Fridays for Families production of The Children’s Theater of Cincinnati’s The Ugly Duckling on February 3rd at 6pm in The Commons. The program is free.
Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story The Ugly Duckling, we follow a poor little swan as he grows up “ugly” in a family of ducks before realizing his full potential. The classic we all grew up with offers a wonderful lesson in overcoming adversity and understanding and accepting each other’s differences.
“We’re celebrating more than tonight’s performance,” said Karen Shrode, executive director of the Arts Council. “Since Columbus is a Super Celebration site, we’ve added some other activities to the evening, including a face painter and Tree Cozies in front of The Commons that will pay tribute to the Super Bowl colors with blue, white and orange creations.” The Visitors Center will be on hand to welcome Super Bowl Fans and an Indy Car will be on exhibit in The Commons.” For more information about other Super Celebration activities visit www.columbus.in.us.com.
