14th Annual Empty Bowls
Tom Roznowski featured at 2012 Empty Bowls
The 14th annual Empty Bowls Dinner will be held Saturday, January 28 at Central Middle School. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Over a thousand people enjoyed homemade soup, bread and desserts at last year’s Empty Bowls Dinner. This fundraiser offers a delicious and entertaining way to fight hunger in our community. The cost for all-you-can-eat soup, bread and beverage and great music is only $10 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Desserts will be available for an additional $2. For $20 an artisan keepsake bowl or breadboard is included with the meal.
Tickets will be on sale in advance at Viewpoint Bookstore or they can be purchased the night of the event.
Empty Bowls raises money for the food banks in the Hope Community Food Bank, Love Chapel, Eastside Community Center and Human Services, Inc. Last year, Empty Bowls raised $18,000 for these food banks.
Popular Indiana performer and writer Tom Roznowski takes the stage at 6:30p. Roznowski’s music has been praised in both the United States and Europe and played on radio stations from St. Louis to Siberia. Billboard Magazine referred to him as “. . . part zoot suit, part Mark Twain with a grasp if Americana both wry and sensitive.” He recently released his latest album of original songs “This Place in Time.”
