Summer 2003 Mural Project
We conducted a week long workshop and completed an indoor
and outdoor mural at the Columbus Animal Control Shelter.
Over 20 residents from the Bartholomew County Youth Services
Center were able to participate in some aspect of the project.
The arts have a place in assisting with the reduction of
juvenile crime, violence, and drug use. They are also an
effective tool for improving communication skills, enhancing
academic performance, and building self-discipline. We believe
the Columbus Mural Project addresses many of these issues
surrounding at-risk youth and offers one pathway for positively
affecting their lives.
